Digitisation Is Coming...
Last month, our Director Richard was up in Glasgow at PASMA's Head Office for a Training Committee meeting, with the main topic of discussion being the move towards digitisation of PASMA Training Courses.
The meeting was a first official showing of how the course is intended to be run using tablets instead of paperwork for both the Instructor and the delegates.
Data entry, photographs, theory tests and feedback/evaluations are all moving from paper to tablet.
If the thought of doing your training course entirely on a tablet seems scary, don't worry, the move towards this is still a work in progress and is not expected to be fully implemented until the start of next year.
There will however be trials of the new digital systems coming in the next few months, for which RSC Training will be participating in, so it is possible you might get to see and use the new tablets before it becomes the new way of PASMA training.

City & Guilds Confined Space Medium Risk
Last month we successfully run our first City & Guilds Confined Space Medium Risk Course, the delegates enjoyed the course and the feedback was good! This is aimed at persons who are required to enter confined spaces and hazardous areas, providing them with an in depth knowledge of the legal requirements, legislation, safe systems of work and risk assessments.
This course is aimed specifically at entrants and includes competent use of appropriate confined space equipment, including Escape Breathing Apparatus (EBA) and practical exercises covering access, egress and safe working practices for confined space and hazardous areas.
On successful completion delegates will receive a Nationally Recognised certificate (valid 3 years).
We can also run shorter low risk one day courses please ask us for your specific requirements.

Do you need First Aid Training?
Emergency First Aid at Work
The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is a one day HSE compliant course designed to equip individuals with the basic skills needed to respond to medical emergencies in a low-risk workplace environmrent.
Course Overview
Who Should Attend
The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is designed for individuals who need to act as designated first aiders in specific workplace environments.

Do you need onsite training but do not have the above equipment onsite? Have a chat with us - we could bring our equipment to you. It will work out far more economical than hiring in equipment from an external company.

- Duration: Typically 1 day (6 to 7 hours of face-to-face or blended training).
- Validity: The qualification is valid for 3 years, after which a requalification course is required.
- Suitability: Ideal for nominated first aiders in low-risk settings like offices, retail shops, and hospitality venues
Who Should Attend
The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is designed for individuals who need to act as designated first aiders in specific workplace environments.
Ideal Attendees
- Designated First Aiders: Staff members officially chosen to take charge during a workplace medical emergency.
- Low-Risk Workplace Staff: Employees working in offices, shops, libraries, call centres, or hospitality venues.
- Small Business Owners: Managers or teams in small companies where a full three-day course is not legally required.
- Back-Up First Aiders: Staff supporting a primary first aider in larger, more complex organizations.
