RSC Training are now pleased to announce that we are able to offer IPAFs MEWPs For Managers training course, which covers the essential information that managers need to know about safely using MEWPs (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms) on site.

This one day course is aimed at those persons who's job role as a manager, foreman or supervisor means they are responsible for planning, supervising and managing of working at height that includes powered access (Scissor and Boom lifts) and the operators of this equipment, without them being the person using the equipment themselves.

Throughout the course, delegates will discuss and cover such topics as planning the job, completing risk assessments, selecting the right equipment, personal protective equipment, managing risks and pre-use inspections.

This course is a classroom based course, only available through IPAF Approved Training Centres such as RSC Training, and will conclude with a written test that delegates must pass to obtain a certificate.

RSC Training have today taken delivery of two new MEWPs for our Training Centre in Woolwich. We now have a Genie Z30/20 Boom lift and a Genie GS1932 Scissor lift available at our training centre for use with our popular 3a & 3b Operator training course.

These were the two machines we was specifically wanting to get in for the training centre, as they are perfect for our needs in terms of size and complexity, giving our delegates a good overall practical experience whilst still keeping it simple for a training course. Plus these are also two popular machines from the Genie range that delegates might see back at their sites.

The Z30/20 Boom (Cherry Picker) has a working height of 11.2m, with a 6.5m outreach. With its zero tail swing and narrow width, it is designed to work in some confined spaces and with its jib and basket rotation is still flexible enough to get the job done!

The GS1932 Scissor is one of the most well known and recognisable machines out there, allowing the operator to work at a height of 7.6m on a working platform of 32 inches wide.
